Omschrijving
One of the basic movement skills for basketball is jumping and landing, skills that are used for jumping (shot, rebounding) and landing (stop, jump and jump).
Jumping is transferring the weight of one or both feet to both feet. A jump consists of three stages: start, flight and landing. Landing safely is an important skill to focus on when a children learn how to jump.
Safe landing is an important skill for all children to learn. In essence, it is about absorbing power over a large surface and over a long period. Landing takes place in a wide range of contexts such as: landing after a jump; accidentally falling over (stumbling in the playground for example); and landing as part of a basketball skill (shooting, rebounding, one-stop and two-stop stops). When landing with a jump stop, each joint must bend in order to absorb the force.
