Stationary dribble

Omschrijving

Performing a stationary dribble:

  • feet point forward, foot opposite the dribble hand more forward
  • The lower the dribble is performed, the more through the knees
  • Body weight is distributed on both feet
  • Body remains almost upright
  • Head has been set up to oversee the field (split vision)
  • Dribbling arm is bent and close to the body
  • Wrist and forearm move up and down to dribble the ball
  • Fingers are spread on the ball, the ball has to be pushed to the ground, as it were, and not beaten.
  • Dribble height is between hip and knee.

Common mistakes in dribbling:

  • Look at the ball instead of across the field
  • Hit the ball instead of pushing it
  • Fingers not spread, palm on the ball
  • No protection other ball
  • Dribble height not good

You can correct by means of:

  • Show how to properly dribble
  • Use dribble glasses
  • Kick the ball away
