Asking for the ball

Laatst gewijzigd 12 april 2016

Omschrijving

A player who cuts to the basket or when executing a give and go, must indicate that he wants to receive the ball and not just assume that the ball will be passed to him or her. The player can do this by looking at the passer, show the palms of his hands to the player with the ball.

Teaching to ask for the ball

  • Put players opposite each other and let them adjust each other
  • The receiving player already puts out his hands and shows his palms, this is also in order to be able to absorb the power of the ball.
  • Ask players to call out the name of the player who receives the ball
  • Do this first in standing position, then at walking pace and later at full speed
  • Swap / ask for the ball with 1 hand and 2 hands.
