Omschrijving
Pivoting is moving the foot in all directions after catching or stopping dribbling.
A player may move a foot in all directions from the stand or after a stop. Here the other foot (pivot foot) must remain on the floor and may not be moved. A player must always know what his pivot foot is. A pivot can be made in all directions. Without turning the body sideways, forward and backward.
When to pivot
- To protect the ball
- Guiding a pass
- Start of a dribble
- Improve the position for dribbling, pass or shot
- When faking
Front pivot
If the player moves his body forward during a pivot movement
