Spacing

Spacing means creating space in the offense. Players tend to walk the basket all the way, leaving little space to dribble or passes. By creating a lot of space, the defense is forced away from the rim.

Creating space should be applied for example in a 5 out offense because all players are outside of the 3-point line before the offense really starts. This creates a lot of room for cutting to the basket.
