Cutting

Cutting means that an attacker is ‘cutting’ to the basket to receive the ball. If this attacker does not get the ball during cutting, he or she has to run out of the bucket and fill a free space around the perimeter. These actions are often part of, for example, a 5-out or 4-out-1-in-motion offense.
