Overhead pass

Omschrijving
An overhead pass is a two-handed pass from above the head and is mainly used against a heavily defended player, when playing at the center or used at the start of a fast break.
Execution of the overhead pass
- The ball is held with two hands above the head
- The arms are slightly bent
- The hands are located on the side and back of the ball; thumbs behind the ball
- The feet are in a small spreaded position
- Throw the ball by swinging the wrists forcefully and then stretching the arms in the direction that the ball has to go
- After the action, the fingers point down, the palms face out
- Player puts one step forward
Teaching the overhead pass
- Per pair of players a ball; pass to each other from a sitting position
- Against a wall
- From stand with two pairs of players, progressively with a defender
- Players are in a triangle, player 1 acts as an intermediate station for 2 and 3.
